6 Times WWE Failed To Use The Elimination Chamber To Create New Stars

5. Mike Knox (No Way Out 2009)

Ah yes, Mike Knox. The man that I can absolutely tell you existed, but I can not think of anything memorable he did other than get eliminated from the 2006 Survivor Series match in a minute, while Shawn Michaels asked his team who he was.

Believe it or not though, he did once receive a World Heavyweight Championship match on a WWE ‘premium live event’, which means WWE definitely had some kind of plans for him to receive a push.

Knox won a Battle Royal on Raw to qualify for the Raw Elimination Chamber for the title at the 2009 No Way Out event. This was the match where Edge famously attacked Kofi Kingston and took his spot in the pod, where John Cena was eliminated by taking a finisher from everyone immediately after entering the match, and Edge reacted in a manner that launched a thousand gifs.

Yes, Mike Knox was in that match. He entered the match fourth and was eliminated before he even had the chance to nail Cena with his finisher… whatever it was.

Knox used the momentum from appearing in the main event of a pay-per-view to not be featured at all on WrestleMania a month later, and was released from the company just over a year later. So it was all worth it?
