On the December 5 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes informed Ricky Saints and Oba Femi that the winner of the NXT Championship match at WWE Deadline 2025 would determine who he faces at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

At WWE NXT Deadline 2025, it was Femi who defeated Saints to become a two-time NXT Champion.

After defeating Rhodes’ protégé and real life friend, Femi will face Rhodes in what will be a highly anticipated champion vs. champion match.

With the Undisputed WWE and NXT Championships not up for grabs, this truly feels like a contest that could go either way.

While Oba would gain a ton from a win over “The American Nightmare,” it is not likely for Rhodes to suffer a loss while holding the top prize in the entire company.

Femi will have the size and strength advantage, but Rhodes has enough championship experience to find a way to pull out a victory at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
