The last major stop for WWE ahead of SummerSlam 2026 will be the latest Saturday Night’s Main Event from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The results of the matches on this card should hold some consequences on what fans see go down at the SummerSlam 2026 premium live event on August 1 and 2.
From new champions being crowned to scores being settled, the outcome of this show could have a ripple effect upon the entire WWE coming out of the big event from MSG.
Here is our full preview and predictions for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event for Madison Square Garden in New York, with betting odds courtesy of William Hill.
Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh – No DQ Match

Danhausen will be a favorite inside Madison Square Garden after his uncursing of the New York Knicks prior to their 2026 NBA Championship win
Since signing with WWE in February 2026, Danhausen has drawn the ire of several different stars on the roster.
From his first night on Raw until now, Danhausen has gotten under the skin of Dominik Mysterio and cursed him before he lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Penta in March.
Things came to a head when Mysterio and JD McDonagh went to Danhausen to curse Oba Femi ahead of Dominik’s King of the Ring Semifinals match and even brought him money to get the job done.
After Danhausen took the money but refused to curse Femi, The Judgment Day have been trying to get revenge on ‘The Very Nice, Very Evil’ star.
This saw McDonagh and Mysterio stealing Danhausen’s custom-made New York Knicks jersey that was given to him by the team after he helped them win the 2026 NBA Championship.
Following Danhausen’s involvement in costing Mysterio the Intercontinental Title number one contender’s Gauntlet on the July 13 WWE Raw, McDonagh wanted to take things one step further and challenged Danhausen to a No DQ Match.
With this bout scheduled to take place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, this should give Danhausen a huge opportunity to stand out in New York City.
Considering Jalen Brunson has been confirmed for the show, Danhausen will have extra backup to get the win here at the July 18 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Prediction: Danhausen
Betting favorite: Danhausen (Danhausen 1/33 JD McDonagh 10/1)
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Paige & Brie Bella (c) vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid)

Brie Bella & Paige defeated Lainey Reid & Fallon Henley in a non-title match on the June 12 episode of SmackDown
On the April 24 WWE SmackDown After WrestleMania 42, Fatal Influence made their official main roster debut.
Immediately becoming a force in the SmackDown women’s division, Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid targeted all the champions on the blue brand.
In recent weeks, Fatal Influence have placed their sights directly on Paige and Brie Bella’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
After Reid scored a win over Bella in a singles match, the company announced Paige and Brie will defend the titles against Fatal Influence at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This gives the legendary pairing a chance to finally put the threat of Henley and Reid behind them and focus on furthering their legacy as champions.
However, Fatal Influence need this victory to solidify their place as a powerful unit in the WWE women’s scene coming out of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Prediction: Fatal Influence
Betting favorite: Fatal Influence (Fatal Influence 8/15 Brie Bella & Paige 11/8)
Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria

Bayley & Lyra Valkyria’s time as a tag team came to an end on the June 22 episode of Raw, with Valkyria attacking her former friend.
On the June 22 episode of Monday Night Raw, Paige and Brie Bella defeated Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
After the loss, Valkyria snapped and viciously attacked Bayley to officially end their partnership.
Since then, Lyra has been in an unhinged state that has seen her change up her look and become distraught.
Losing her mind, Valkyria wants to prove once and for all that she is better than Bayley and will exceed her legacy in WWE.
Considering Bayley is looking for revenge on her former friend, a grudge match was announced for the July 18 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This personal battle could see Bayley and Lyra taking out a full year of frustration out on one another to settle their issues with one another.
While Bayley is motivated to get vengeance, Valkyria feels like the most important individual to give a win to and give her a fresh start following this breakup coming out of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event from Madison Square Garden.
Prediction: Lyra Valkyria
Betting favorite: Lyra Valkyria (Lyra Valkyria 1/4 Bayley 11/4)
CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn & GUNTHER

Cody Rhodes will challenge CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2026
At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Coming out of the premium live event, Zayn was forced to defend his title for the first time just nine days later in Chicago.
While he was scheduled for a rematch with Cody Rhodes on the July 6 WWE Raw, Zayn’s night was turned upside down after GUNTHER attacked ‘The American Nightmare’ at the start of the show to cost him this bout.
In Cody’s place, CM Punk made his return and went on to defeat Zayn to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion in his hometown.
Then on the July 10 episode of SmackDown, Punk and Rhodes made a title match official for the WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event, which upset both Zayn and GUNTHER.
Following an ultimatum from ‘The Ring General,’ SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis decided to give him what he wanted by making GUNTHER team with Zayn to face Punk and Rhodes at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This big time tag team showdown will feature the four top stars of WWE SmackDown and see them clash in a heated grudge match.
With all the animosity on display here, it should be a highly intense contest that can settle the score between all these four competitors.
Considering their huge title clash scheduled for SummerSlam, Rhodes and Punk should get the job done and defeat GUNTHER and Zayn to set the stage for their high profile bout on August 1 or 2.
Prediction: CM Punk & Cody Rhodes
Betting favorite: CM Punk & Cody Rhodes (CM Punk & Cody Rhodes 4/11 GUNTHER & Sami Zayn 2/1)
