AEW
Since the start of 2025, AEW has been on a strong run of weekly shows and pay-per-view events, helping fans become more enthused about the product.
With reports of Tony Khan being more “in the weeds,” it has led to overwhelming positivity to the company and helped fans feel like the future is bright.
However, there has long been discussion that maybe AEW could have a better approach to storytelling and long term booking with someone else at the helm.
Looking within the company and outside of it, here are six potential AEW replacements for Tony Khan.
6. Bryan Danielson

While he has to be in the conversation for one of the greatest signings in AEW history, Bryan Danielson does not get enough credit and praise for everything he has done in the company.
Since debuting in 2021, Danielson has put on a litany of classic encounters against the likes of Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, MJF and Swerve Strickland.
However, The American Dragon has also helped out creatively as one of the most brilliant minds behind the scenes for the company.
Based on his time in WWE working with creative, Tony Khan has gone on record and said if he were to ever have to leave that he would want Danielson to become lead booker, so it makes the most sense for him to be the best replacement.
