7. Edge vs. Undertaker – Summerslam 2008
This was one of the best feuds of the modern era, especially when it came to the World Title. And while the World Title was gone from this feud, this match was still an amazing affair.
It was violent, with weapons and even Edge spearing the Undertaker through the cell walls. The ending of the match was even more memorable, with ‘Taker sending Edge “to Hell” with a Chokeslam from the top of a ladder. A memorable match to end an amazing feud. What more could you ask for?
6. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels – Bad Blood 1997
This was the first ever Hell in a Cell match, and if this match bombed, then the entire concept of Hell in a Cell would bomb as well. However, putting Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in the ring never disappoints, and they took advantage of their new structure.
That, along with Shawn’s great body language and storytelling showing how afraid he was of being stuck in the cell with the ‘Deadman,’ made the match even better.
It is a bit one sided to the Undertaker in a few places, but that’s a small nitpick. Also, Kane debuted in the company, and it was a great debut with him tearing the door off of the cell wall and hitting Undertaker with a Tombstone.
5. The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title – No Mercy 2002
Ahhhh… Remember when Brock Lesnar actually put on great matches that weren’t just carbon copies of each other? Good times…
Anyway, Brock Lesnar was starting his first World Title reign at this time, and it got off to a bit of a rough start with his screwy match with the Undertaker the month before. However, this bout showed that Lesnar was here to stay, and that Undertaker still had gas left in the tank.
The match was great. It had great wrestling, great brawling, great cage spots, and was bloody (I mean, even Paul Heyman was bleeding by the end of it).
This match ended with Brock pinning ‘Taker clean with the F-5. And just like that, the ‘Next Big Thing’s star grew even brighter. Also, him climbing the top of the cage to celebrate was an amazing visual.
