Top 10 WWE Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-View Matches

10. Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. The Usos vs. The Shield for the WWE Tag Team Championships – 2013

In 2018, the idea of this match would be enough to make the IWC drool by mere mention.

Despite the fact that this match wasn’t as good as I’d hoped it would be, considering the names involved, the opening clash from Hell in a Cell 2013 was still a lot of fun.

Cody Rhodes and his real-life half-brother, Goldust, had been embroiled in a storyline involving the Authority and the SHIELD that saw them defeat Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for the WWE Tag Team Championships and to win back their jobs in the company.

The feud, which also had the Usos thrown in for good measure, lead to this match at Hell in a Cell, which was either one of the first Triple Threat tag team matches in WWE history, or the commentary team of Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL are complete idiots, because none of them seemed to know the rules of this match.

The match started off slow with Rollins and Reigns beating the face paint off of Goldust (literally), before it stepped up a gear and allowed the talents of the six men in this bout to shine through.

Memorable spots included Cody executing a top rope Superplex on Rollins to the outside of the ring, leveling the rest of the competitors who were stood outside, as well as an excellent sequence that saw Goldust and Cody brilliant combine their move-sets to score the win.

It’s easy to see why all of the younger talent in this match went on to be huge players in the world of pro-wrestling and really makes you wonder who the next breakout star in the current WWE tag team division will be. My money is on Konnor of the Ascension. Just got a feeling.
