Top 25 NJPW Matches of 2018

New Japan Pro Wrestling has become the standard bearer from great matches in professional wrestling. The company’s reputation has grown over the last seven years to the point that nearly all of their big shows can have a match of the year candidate.

2018 has been no exception as fantastic matches were in no short order. New Japan kicked off 2018 with Wrestle Kingdom 12. The event was highlighted by the Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega dream match and the main event of Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito. From there New Japan put on excellent matches as they moved through their annual tournaments. The New Japan CupBest of the Super Juniors, and G1 Climax all produced some of the best matches of the year.

The latter half of the year was dedicated to forming the card for the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 13. Ongoing storylines helped shape New Japan‘s 2018 and has given the world a glimpse of what 2019 could look like.

With that being said, here we will list the 25 best matches to take place in a New Japan Pro Wrestling ring in 2018. This is not an easy task, as this could easily be twice as long and not come close to running out of content. However, this is a matter of opinion so if you disagree with the order in which we have ranked these matches you can feel free to let us know.

With that being said let us begin.
