Who Should Challenge For Every Main Roster Title Following Survivor Series?

3. SmackDown Women’s Championship – Carmella

Current Champion – Sasha Banks

Similar to the 24/7 title scene, is anyone seriously invested in this Carmella gimmick change? I for one, certainly am not. You may now question, so why should she be the next challenger? Firstly, they’ve already started to build this feud so it would only make sense. Secondly, to give Sasha Banks some needed victories to build to much bigger feuds in the future.

If I was to fantasy book, Bianca Belair has to be Bank’s WrestleMania challenger. She is exceptional and proved it last night with the final minutes of the women’s match giving her a necessary spotlight. Nevertheless, this is about Carmella. Admittedly, I have been harsh on ‘Mella, who has improved since her main roster call-up in 2016. A short feud leading to TLC later this year would be somewhat fun, and solidify the start of Sasha’s title run.

2. WWE Championship – AJ Styles

Current Champion – Drew McIntyre

AJ Styles is on fire right now. The past few weeks of him being the ‘captain’ of Team Raw have been really comedic, but it’s time for him to get a deserved spot at the top of the card. Drew’s long, draining feud against Randy Orton, could hopefully be over after Drew regained his title, therefore another heel in AJ would be perfect.

Following Team Raw’s clean sweep of the men’s SmackDown team, AJ has a storyline reason to be Drew McIntyre’s next challenger. Furthermore, the alliance of AJ and Omas could lead to Drew going against the former Raw Underground bodyguard, which would be interesting, to say the least. There are multiple ways WWE could go with this, but a more serious AJ would be the best option as we slowly crawl to the road to WrestleMania, where Drew can move on following the Royal Rumble.

1. Universal Championship – Daniel Bryan

Current Champion – Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is the best he has ever been. The feud and now alliance with his cousin Jey Uso has been the best part of WWE television, with the recent reports that Reigns was intended to have lost the title by now shows how impressive his current run has been. However, a fresh feud outside of the Usos is necessary, and who better than Daniel Bryan.

I miss Bryan at the top of the card massively. Similar to Reigns, his heel turn in 2018 reinvented his character and freshened him up drastically, but since his loss to Kofi at WrestleMania last year, he hasn’t done too much. A short feud with AJ Styles, a lacklustre match against Sami Zayn and a temporary absence for the birth of his son, Bryan needs a big-time match against the Tribal Chief.

While this feud could be held off until Bryan beats Reigns at possibly ‘Mania, the seeds have already been placed with Jey’s attack and recent match against Bryan, so why not strike while the iron is hot?
