Who Should Challenge For Every Main Roster Title Following TLC?

7. RAW Tag Team Championship – Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik

Current Champions – The Hurt Business

The Hurt Business versus The New Day last night was a fantastic match, but I would not lose sleep if they don’t fight again. Since the November 2nd episode of RAW, the Hurt Business and the New Day have had some variation of a match nine times. While that isn’t as bad as Andrade and Angel Garza versus The Street Profits, repetition is one of WWE’s biggest problems. With ratings plummeting, giving the viewers something fresh and exciting to watch would do wonders.

While I don’t think Alexander and Benjamin versus Dorado and Metalik is a perfect idea, what are the other options? RETRIBUTION or The New Day again? Andrade and Garza unite once more? Maybe Big Show and Dabba-Kato would make a good team? We just need something new, and all four men are brilliant wrestlers who could put on a great match. This doesn’t even need to be a pay-per-view match, it just needs to be a break between The Hurt Business and the next feud.

6. SmackDown Tag Team Championship – Otis and Chad Gable

Current Champions – The Street Profits

The tag team problem in WWE hasn’t been any more evident than now. There are little to no teams left that haven’t already won or challenged for the titles this year alone. Although the Gable and Otis alliance has only just begun, this is realistically the only option. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler are most likely going to continue to face the Profits, but we don’t need it again.

With the current storyline being Gable is actually costing Otis matches rather than helping, it could make an interesting addition for them to fail in gaining the tag titles at first. This could eventually lead to them managing to sort their problems out and gaining the belts in a triumphant moment.

The saddest part of this is that this is Chad’s sixth alliance with another wrestler. Jason Jordan, Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Roode, Mustafa Ali, Baron Corbin, and now Otis have all teamed with the Olympian. Let’s hope reports are true and that underused superstars including Gable are going to be pushed.

5. Women’s Tag Team Championship’s – Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir

Current Champions – Asuka and Charlotte Flair

Following the huge win last night for the notorious tag team of Asuka and Charlotte Flair, new challengers are needed. While we all know where this alliance will lead to… we can have some fun while it lasts. The team between Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax is surely over? Split them up and let’s swiftly move on from that. However, this sadly leaves not many options. The most important thing is that the cross-brand titles are shown on other brands, so bringing Flair and Asuka in particular for an NXT return would lead to some unique feuds.

In my previous list, I suggested Toni Storm and Ember Moon could be a good team to face the champs. While I still think Ember could team with others, Shayna’s former partners feuding with Charlotte and Asuka could make an interesting story. Neither Jessamyn Duke nor Marina Shafir are the best wrestler, however, the story is already created with the champions winning the belts off Shayna. Furthermore, Duke and Shafir are one of the only pre-made women’s tag teams left.

4. RAW Women’s Championship – Shayna Baszler

Current Champion – Asuka

As I mentioned in the last entrant, we all know where the Asuka and Charlotte alliance is going. WrestleMania 34 flashbacks run-in, with Vince McMahon desperate for Flair to match her father’s title record. Before that inevitably happens, a feud between Asuka and Shayna Baszler would be perfect for the Rumble.

We saw glimmers of this match at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, with Asuka playing the underdog against dominant Shayna. The partnership of Jax and Baszler has run its course, and it is now time for ‘The Queen of Spades’ to continue the hot run she started with. Things have been relatively sour for Shayna since the loss to Becky Lynch at Mania this year, but a feud with Asuka could refresh her and put her back up the card.
