WrestleTalk’s Facts, Opinions, and Rumors

1. Whoa, what a RUSH!!

Rumor:  WWE is interested in signing ROH and CMLL Superstar RUSH

Fact:  RUSH is under contract with ROH through the end of 2019

Fact:  RUSH is under contract with CMLL until 2021

Opinion:  As someone who regularly watches Ring of Honor and even writes a review or two about the weekly show, ROH cannot afford to lose a talent like RUSH at the moment.

Given their recent roster turnover with AEW taking a lot of their top performers, RUSH has become a key player for ROH.  RUSH has a big match at Best in the World and could potentially be a challenger for whoever wins the ROH World Title Match.

Whether it’s Jeff Cobb or Matt Taven, RUSH would be an excellent feud for either.  In the short term, he’s got to get through Dalton Castle. ROH needs to keep this uber-talented wrestler on the roster.

From WWE’s perspective, why wouldn’t you try to sign him? He’s great.  He was a part of the original Los Ingobernables faction in CMLL with Andrade and Naito.

Andrade has said to be much happier of late in WWE now that he’s actually getting a push.  If RUSH can help him stay happy and help WWE make a connection to the Mexican audience, then WWE should go after him.

From RUSH’s perspective, why would you go?  Obviously, I have no way of knowing what WWE would pay him.  However, I’m sure AEW, ROH, CMLL, and/or NJPW would probably find a way to come close monetarily.  Everything you hear is how bad WWE morale is.  Wrestlers are asking to get out and trying to jump ship.

WWE definitely hasn’t shown it knows what to do with guys who don’t speak fluent English or even have the slightest accent.  Shinsuke Nakumura, Asuka, Kairi Saine, and even Andrade have had trouble getting TV time.

RUSH would probably be happier finding a way to make a nice living in one of those other promotions who have a track record of getting guys like him over.
