Buddy Murphy reportedly signed a new AEW contract last year, but speculation has persisted that he could end up back in WWE someday.
Matthews is not only the real-life partner of WWE star Rhea Ripley, but also someone Paul Heyman reportedly wanted to build around during his last run – meaning he has influential supporters within WWE.
It would also make for a potential reunion with fellow House of Black member Aleister Black, who made a similar move back to SmackDown.
When his current contract expires, a return to WWE and the re-debut of Buddy Matthews seems like a very real possibility.
