On Friday’s SmackDown, Nick Aldis announced that the WWE women’s division will finally receive a mid-card championship to contest over.
The WWE Women’s United States Championship is the prize in question, a truly exciting addition that is yet another major milestone for how far female wrestling has come in the company.
We’re still awaiting confirmation as to whether the title will be eligible for stars of both Raw and SmackDown, but it was seemingly alluded that that would be the case by Michael Cole.
Bearing that in mind here are eight WWE stars who could potentially become the first-ever Women’s United States Champion.
8. Chelsea Green
Easily one of the most entertaining WWE stars on the roster since returning to the company in January 2023, Chelsea Green is overdue some singles championship success.
All you need to do is go back to when Green qualified for the women’s Money in the Bank match and listen to that pop, the people are ready.
While a world title my sadly be a bridge too far right now, the Women’s US Title is certainly within her reach, with Green being exactly the type of talent that could benefit the most from its introduction.
Whether it be with the help of Piper Niven, or at her expense, a Green win would be a fun start to the title’s life and a due reward for Green’s excellent character work.
