We’re only a week into 2025 and the landscapes of both WWE and AEW have shifted in a major way, with AEW debuting on Max and WWE on Netflix.
One thing that probably won’t change though is that some headlines will be made by stars switching from one to the other – even if those switches don’t actually happen this year, the 2025 trajectories of both companies could lead to major changes in the coming years.
Here are nine current WWE stars who could join AEW.
9. Kevin Owens
If this list was being written a few months ago, this would look a lot more likely than it is now.
Kevin Owens’ WWE contract was coming up at the end of 2024, and there were enough signs pointing in the direction of him leaving WWE for it to be a serious possibility.
However, things very quickly changed as he became involved in the Undisputed WWE Championship scene with Cody Rhodes as possibly the top heel on SmackDown.
Having said that, while Owens does seem to have committed to WWE right now, a move to AEW probably shouldn’t be ruled out from ever happening, even if it’s not for a while.
