On Saturday, May 10, WWE will present its latest premium live event with Backlash 2025 from St. Louis, Missouri.
With five matches announced for the card, the show will be headlined by John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton.
While the results should go as many fans expect, the company could add some excitement by adding some surprises in the form of former WWE stars coming back into the fold.
Looking at the free agency market and possible comebacks that have been discussed, here are six former WWE stars to potentially return at Backlash 2025.
6. Lana
On the April 21 WWE Raw After WrestleMania 41, Rusev made his return to the company for the first time since 2020.
Following this return, it was revealed that Rusev’s wife CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana, had signed a WWE Legends contract with the promotion.
While “The Bulgarian Brute” is not scheduled for a match at WWE Backlash 2025, he could always make an appearance to follow up from his in-ring return on the May 5 episode of Monday Night Raw.
Bringing Lana with him, Rusev could reestablish this act that has always been a success when paired with one another and start his ascent back up the ladder in WWE at Backlash.
