With five matches announced for the card, WWE Backlash 2025 should deliver an exciting night for fans in St. Louis, Missouri this Saturday.
While the matches are surely going to deliver some entertaining action, the company should offer some surprises that give the fans some twists and turns on the night.
Whether it be new champions being crowned and betrayals or debuts and returns, Backlash needs to give the audience something they will remember long after the show.
Here are seven potential surprises at WWE Backlash 2025.
7. Penta Wins The Intercontinental Championship
After coming up short in the four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41, Penta will get another opportunity to capture his first singles title since signing with WWE.
It was Dominik Mysterio who walked out of Las Vegas with the IC Title after pinning his Judgment Day stablemate Finn Balor at Mania.
On the April 21 Raw After Mania, Mysterio retained the gold against Penta thanks to outside interference from the returning JD McDonagh.
With the former AEW star now being ready for what The Judgment Day offer, WWE Backlash 2025 could see Penta finally being able to capture the IC Championship for the first time.
