AEW has created its fair share of homegrown stars over the course of the past six years, but they have also benefitted from former WWE stars coming over to the promotion.
Whether it be former world champions to mid-card and tag team titleholders, there have been many stars who have signed and gone on to make an impact in the company.
Looking at the current free agency market, there are a variety of former champions in WWE that have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Christian Cage and Mercedes Mone in AEW.
Here are eight former WWE champions to potentially sign with AEW.
8. Cedric Alexander
After being released from WWE in February, Cedric Alexander was immediately seen as a talent who could make his way over to All Elite Wrestling.
During the course of his nine year run with the promotion, Alexander was a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and held the Raw Tag Team Championships with Shelton Benjamin.
Considering his ties with Benjamin, MVP and Bobby Lashley from their time in the Hurt Business, it makes sense for Cedric to sign with AEW in the not-so-distant future.
It feels like only a matter of time that Alexander joins forces with The Hurt Syndicate and walk into a prominent role on AEW television from day one.
