Injuries are commonplace in wrestling, especially in WWE where the schedule is so jam-packed and non-stop.
Over the past few years the injury rate seems to be going up. The reasons why are unclear.
It could be changes in workout (power lifting is often a cause of shoulder injuries) or performers taking bigger risks in the ring and working a harder style.
It may well be that today’s grapplers take time off when they are hurt when the old school mentality would have been to work through it.
Whatever the reason, WWE always seems to have a host of acts on the sidelines recovering from one thing or another.
Here is a breakdown of the current names who are out of action and when they are expected to return.
Triple H suffered a torn pectoral muscle during a tag match against the Brothers of Destruction at Crown Jewel.
He has since undergone surgery as you can see in the photo above, and he expected to be out for at least four months. However, many pectoral tears can take as long as six months to recover from.
If he does take six months to return, he could be missing WrestleMania, and therefore a potential Mania match with Batista that was teased at SmackDown 1000.
