Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Kalisto
This one was undoubtedly in my mind the best match WWE produced this week. The cruiserweights put on barnstormers each and every time they step between the ropes and this was no different. Basically opening the Greatest Royal Rumble after John Cena and Triple H stumbled around in house-show fashion for a bit, Cedric Alexander and Kalisto proved why the old boys need to step aside once and for all.
The two of them have such similar yet such contrasting styles with Kalisto gracefully dancing around the ring in a classic luchador way while Alexander holds a more powerful, athletic and hard-hitting presence. Alexander’s blossoming reign as Cruiserweight Champion was truly solidified in the non-stop action-filled bout that had everything you could have wanted from the pair. It was innovative, spectacular and above all else, set the standard for the division moving forward.
