205 Live
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Hideo Itami
Shock and awe. A 205 Live main event was stellar. Some things in WWE are just a certainty each and every week and this is one of them. Even more gravitas was added to this, however, with it being for the genuinely coveted WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
Cedric Alexander has been a solid champion atop the purple mountain. He lives and breathes the division so it’s good to see him defend the top spot with such ferocity. Itami did have his way for a good chunk of the bout but Alexander was never letting the title go. The match itself wasn’t quite as good as the Ali vs. Murphy encounter the week prior but it still topped anything else on the main roster by a country mile.
NXT
Adam Cole vs. Danny Burch
Danny Burch continues to prove that he deserves a higher spot on the card in NXT. His battles with the Undisputed Era over the last month have been tremendous. With partner Oney Lorcan out injured, Burch needs to make sure that he does not get benched until the ‘One’ of ‘OneTwo’ returns.
Cole was great as usual. They really seem to enjoy beating the life out of each other. Which is always a fun thing to see when you’re watching what is meant to be a combat sport… does someone want to let the main roster in on the secret?
