Hello and welcome once again to my top ‘WWE Matches of the Week’. Here, as always, I check out all the bouts from the past seven days of WWE TV and cherry pick the very best for you.
A quick reminder that this only focuses on Raw, SmackDown Live, 205 Live and NXT. After all, we all know that Main Event does not exist. This week we were also graced with the start of the 2018 Mae Young Classic second round which was outstanding.
I’ve decided after the first 20 articles to change this up a bit and have introduced a top five system rather than a chronological list of quality bouts. So we’ll see how it goes.
Now, without further ado, let’s get cracking!

5. Mae Young Classic – Rhea Ripley vs. Kacy Catanzaro
Kacy Catanzaro has made such an impact since beginning her wrestling career. She is a fun and unique babyface that the crowd genuinely gets behind. That said, she is still effectively a rookie and may stumble here and there which did occur in this one but the Ninja Warrior recovered well and finished up another impressive outing.
Unfortunately, for Catanzaro, she was up against the smashmouth Rhea Ripley who seems to really enjoy just trying to murder people. The pair put on a great show including a wonderful round-the-world DDT spot which saw the David of the pair level the Goliath to a huge ovation.
Needless to say, the right woman won in Ripley and she will go on to the semi-finals of the second Mae Young Classic with a wealth of momentum behind her.
