Would you look at that, it’s Friday again and you have every reason to not know what that means so let me tell you. It is time, once again, for my ‘WWE Matches of the Week’. Here, I have a gander at all of the company’s bouts and take the top ones ripe for the picking – not the way Ronda Rousey thinks – for your emotional satisfaction.
As always, I exclusively look at the four main weekly shows running under the umbrella of ‘Vince’s Playhouse’. Those being Raw, SmackDown Live, 205 Live and NXT. As we all know, Main Event is a myth. So without further ado…
Let’s get cracking!
Raw
Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns vs. Elias & Jinder Mahal
I won’t lie, Raw came close to not even featuring on this week’s list but as the kind soul I am, I threw it a bone. In all fairness, I did really enjoy this bout between what I guess is the red brand’s main event scene since Brock Lesnar is also a myth these days – seriously, the WWE Universal Championship is a joke.
Seth raised the bar as always but the heels did well to keep our babyface team apart. There was some questionable refereeing over a dodgy chair spot which I’m going to class as fair since Rollins brought the chair in and wasn’t technically hit with it. A lovely Drift Away later and we’re golden.
Two takeaways from this: Roman getting cheered – WHAT? And I always forget that Elias actual has a theme song. It’s nice.
