WWE Matches Of The Week #9

WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament
Night One
British Strong Style (Tyler Bate, Trent Seven & Pete Dunne) vs. Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong)

Where to even begin with this. It was phenomenal. The feud has been building for ages now and the blow-off was just perfect. The crowd made it even better with chants you only get in the UK. Both sides worked incredibly well as the teams they are.

The blood feud aspect, particularly between Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong, was brilliant. In the opening stages, Tyler Bate managed to trap Strong in his arms and walked them both over to his corner where Dunne was waiting. The ‘Bruiserweight’ tagged-in to a huge pop and Strong looked genuinely terrified before eating a massive forearm to the jaw.

It’s so great that WWE has finally found a team to make UE come off like actual heels. Yes, they’ll always get cheered because they’re amazing. BSS are genuinely favored, however, and it makes the dynamic so much more intense.

After watching the entire show up to this point as well, the jump in quality when these six men were in the ring was just outstanding. The crowd spent half the match on their feet and just ate up everything dished out. Personally, this was the most enjoyable match I’ve seen in WWE that didn’t take place at an NXT TakeOver event in years. It was certainly the best six-man tag team match the company has produced for a long time.
