Every WWE Money In The Bank Cash-In Ranked

18. Sheamus – Survivor Series 2015

Here we have the first successful cash-in on this list. Sheamus becoming WWE Champion was the icing on the cake of a particularly poor 2015. The bottom of this list as far as successful cash-ins go, are ones that made very little impact and were terrible ideas.

When Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose at Survivor Series 2015, he won his first WWE Championship. This should have been a big moment but instead Sheamus cashed-in his contract. He just hit a Brogue Kick and won the title. Not only was this an all-around lame moment but it led to nothing. Sheamus had a lousy reign as champion and dropped the title back to Reigns a month later.

17. Alexa Bliss – Money in the Bank 2018

Just the second Ms. Money in the Bank ever, Alexa Bliss wasted little time to cash-in. While Nia Jax attempted to defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey, Bliss ran in and ended their match. She cashed-in her newly acquired contract and took back the Raw Women’s Championship.

The issue with this, as we will continue to see, is the charm of the Money in the Bank briefcase is waiting long periods of time to see when the holder is going to cash-in. When you cash in on the same night the fans don’t get the same level of anticipation and build-up. In Bliss’ case, she lost the title a month later anyway.

16. Alberto Del Rio – SummerSlam 2011

Alberto Del Rio’s 2011 was bizarre. He was supposed to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and Extreme Rules but plans changed both times. Then he was supposed to win the WWE Championship at SummerSlam but CM Punk got super hot so he won Money in the Bank. WWE were not smart enough to allow Punk to rise in popularity, instead, choosing to stick to their plan and have him cash-in at SummerSlam.

Punk was attacked by Kevin Nash of all people and Del Rio picked up the scraps, winning his first WWE Championship. This was definitely a hectic moment, but it was one that never should have happened. Del Rio also lost the title a month later to John Cena so really, what was the point of this?

15. Bayley – Money in the Bank 2019

Man, the women have not been patient when it comes to cashing-in their contracts. A year after Alexa Bliss cashed-in on the same night, Bayley did the same thing. After Charlotte managed to take the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Becky Lynch, Bayley emerged to take the title for herself.

There wasn’t much to this one but Bayley has had a pair of long reigns coming off of this moment so points for that.

14. Brock Lesnar – Extreme Rules 2019

Brock Lesnar was a very different choice to be Mr. Money in the Bank. He seemed to have a lot of fun with the briefcase and it would have been fun to see him have a longer run before cashing-in. Alas, it was not to be. Lesnar was keen on tormenting Seth Rollins in 2019 and he finally took the Universal Championship from him at Extreme Rules.

Rollins had just teamed with Becky Lynch to retain their titles against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans. This is when Lesnar came out and F-5ed Rollins to reclaim his championship. This is one of the ones in the middle here where there wasn’t much wrong with it but it doesn’t stand out as a classic moment.
