With a new WWE NXT Champion and NXT Women’s Champion crowned at New Year’s Evil, Shawn Michaels’ brand is beginning anew in 2025 with some exciting possibilities ahead.
One of those being some potential additions of brand new stars to the NXT brand, with several free agent names and those currently under contract in other companies linked with moves to WWE.
With established stars such as Trick Williams and Roxanne Perez potentially bound for main roster call-ups, here are eight new WWE NXT signings.
8. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.
Recently announcing his free agent status after finishing up with Pro Wrestling NOAH, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. is a star that may soon become familiar to WWE watchers if a recent report is to be believed.
Per Dr. Chris Featherstone on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, WWE are in talks with Dr. Wagner Jr. regarding a move.
There’s no word on how far along these talks are at this point, but the Mexican star’s social media activity has been dropping hints left, right and center regarding WWE, so it certainly seems likely.
Unlike Penta who is a recognisable name to many WWE fans following his work in AEW, TNA and Lucha Undergound, Dr. Wagner Jr. would likely been life in NXT rather than immediately head to Raw or SmackDown, with Tuesday nights being a solid platform for him to build his name with the WWE audience.
