WWE PG Era Pushes That Failed Miserably

For every big push in WWE that works, there are at least six or seven that fail miserably.

These poor superstars thought they were destined to become the next big thing, only to realise they were only there to get someone else over *cough* John Cena *cough*.

There are plenty to choose from, but we’ve whittled it down to the people WWE actually made us believe were being pushed until the killed our dreams.

Mr Kennedy

Misterrrrrrrrrrrrr Kennedyyyyyyyy…or something like that.

From all the reports at the time, Mr Kennedy was going to be the next big thing in WWE, and honestly, it started out pretty well for him.

Despite an injury, Kennedy was still booked very strong, winning the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 23.

Unlike many names on this list, Kennedy was actually a very good in-ring worker, and if not for an injury suffered in 2007, his career may have played out completely differently.

Although he once again made a comeback, injuries plagued the remainder of his WWE career and he was released on May 29, 2009. This release is rumoured to have come about after Kennedy accidentally dropped Randy Orton on his head in his comeback match, something that left Orton very upset. And that’s the only thing that ever happened between the two men…allegedly.

Kennedy has since had a successful career on the indies and in IMPACT/TNA, but without those injuries, he could have done so much more.
