WWE Raw October 1 2018 – Highs and Lows

High: Seattle goes bonkers at Elias and Owens

A lot is made of heels and babyfaces in wrestling. I personally don’t think they really exist most of the time. This was an exception.

Elias and Owens sat in the middle of the ring as the former did his usual thing of “your town is rubbish and it smells etc. etc.”. This time though, he hit a nerve.

Elias referenced the Seattle Supersonics, who used to be the basketball team of, you guessed it, Seattle. In 2008, though, the team left and became the Oklahoma City Thunder, which obviously didn’t go down well with the Seattle faithful.

Elias, being the genius that he is, referenced this, and for the first time in forever, actually got booed.

When talking about John Cena’s upcoming return at Super Show-Down, where he will team with big Bob Lashley take on Elias and Owens, the ‘Sinister Songsmith’ said:

“It doesn’t make sense. It’s like having a basketball team in Seattle.”

Amazing. This resulted in about SIX MINUTES of constant booing from the live crowd, with the two men practically having to shout their scripted lines just so we at home could actually hear.

This was great. Owens is great. Elias is great. I want three hours of Elias and Owens next week.

Low: The B-Team beats the Revival

A lot was made last week of the reports that Vince McMahon was really high on the Revival’s Raw Tag Team Championship match against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre.

Their reward?

Getting beaten in about three minutes by the B-Team.

This was done to set up an AoP ambush on Dallas and Axel, which I suppose is grand, but couldn’t they have done that after the Revival had beaten them? Wouldn’t that be even more of a dick move?

Dash and Dawson didn’t even get an entrance. Konnor did though. Hooray.

I just looked for a YouTube video of this match to add in and there isn’t one. That’s how little WWE cares. If they don’t, why should we?
