WWE Raw September 24 2018 – Highs and Lows

In the this regular feature, we attempt to take an objective, balanced look at the big shows, looking at the High and Low points in equal measure.

As ever, this is purely opinion. Feel free to let us know your own Highs and Lows. Share your opinion in the comments below, on Twitter or via our Discord chat room!

High: The revival of The Revival

The plight of The Revival on the main roster has been well documented.

Having excelled in NXT, the duo have struggled to gain any traction on the main roster due to a series of injury layoffs and the fact that with their old school approach and average height, they are hardly the sort of act that Vince McMahon rushes to push.

Last night they came up against Raw tag champs Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler in what many predicted would be a routine squash.

Instead, the selfless champions did everything in their power to get The Revival over, selling for them and giving them the majority of the match. It worked, with fans chanting “this is awesome” in appreciation. For once, it was thoroughly deserved.

Much credit to McIntyre and Ziggler – who have been excellent of late – but this was a four-way street and everyone involved played their part. Now, let’s hope it is not just a one off and that The Revival can be taken seriously from now on.

Low: Reckless Brie Bella

Plenty has already been written about the nasty knockout blow that Brie Bella delivered to Liv Morgan during their six-woman tag last night.

I do not want to go over old ground but I can hardly write this piece without mentioning it.

Brie’s kicks were reckless, yes, but there is no doubt that they were accidental. Brie was never an accomplished worker to begin with and the combination of two years of ring rust and her body still recovering from the rigours of pregnancy meant her comeback was always going to be a challenge.

She deserves to be criticised for kicking Liv in the face, without doubt. However, the way the internet has reacted you would think she had killed somebody.

She didn’t. It was a mistake. Everybody needs to calm down about it. I can assure you that nobody feels worse about what happened than Brie.

And that’s coming from someone who would die happy if I never saw another Bellas match ever again!
