At WWE WrestleMania 41 night two, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

After a 378-day reign as the top champion in WWE, it looks like Rhodes will be away from the company’s programming for a period of time following this loss.

With the likes of Roman Reigns and CM Punk sticking around to be main event level talent for the company, there is also room for another star to step up into the top babyface role in Cody’s absence.

Here are eight potential WWE replacements for Cody Rhodes.

8. Joe Hendry

At WWE WrestleMania 41 night two, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance to answer Randy Orton’s open challenge.

Considered one of the most popular stars in pro wrestling today, Hendry received a massive pop and showed the world his connection with the fans.

After Mania, WWE CCO Triple H mentioned that this was Hendry’s first appearance at “The Show of Shows,” but it would not be his last.

The reigning TNA World Champion has the charisma, popularity, presence and IT factor to be the top babyface of any company, so it feels like only a matter of time before he can fill that role in WWE.
