With an existing real-life history between Adam Pearce and CM Punk, if WWE needed to replace one Chicago native – perhaps another would be able to fill his shoes.
Since he is already a locker room leader of sorts, taking a step towards making that official would be an interesting storyline as well.
With shades of the narrative already planted via Punk’s potential future behind-the-scenes in WWE, it would be interesting to see his increasing backstage influence demonstrated through an on-screen storyline.
For a character with very anti-authority roots, Punk ending up as an authority figure without trying to lose his edge is a unique story that would be worth telling by WWE.
