And that wraps the final stop on the road to SummerSlam 2018.
Not too much of note really happened, but the cliffhanger at the end does have me intrigued, though I do still think they should have focused more on Styles and Joe’s history rather than basing the feud around AJ’s wife.
The US Title scene didn’t really do much, but will Randy Orton get involved on Sunday?
Daniel Bryan and The Miz is now a very, very exciting prospect once again thanks to the power of video packages.
And that’s about it. I still think this show was better than Raw though. Raw just feels like a chore to watch, whereas SmackDown is actually relatively entertaining.
Thanks for joining me and following along with the show tonight! If you fancy any more of my wrestling-based nonsense, feel free to follow me on Twitter @LiamTheShebang.

And now I’m going to go and watch 205 Live because I like good wrestling. You should too.
AJ Styles is in the middle of doing exactly what he did last week, before being interrupted by his SummerSlam challenger, Samoa Joe.
Joe reads a letter from a “member of the WWE Universe,” in which he claimed that AJ never actually wanted children or a wife, and the reason he’s such a good champion is because he wants to stay away from his family.
Turns out the letter was from Wendy Styles, AJ’s wife.
And then the show went off the air…
You can’t end on that! That’s worse than the ending to Plan B’s ‘Charmaine!’
*must refrain from making inappropriate joke*

AJ Styles up next, hopefully not just to do exactly what he did last week, but I don’t have a great feeling.
Hardy hits the Twist of Fate, a weird standing splash, and picks up a relatively easy win.
No sooner can Hardy say “Yay I won” does US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura try to attack Jeff.
The ‘Charismatic Enigma’ counters the Kinshasa, before hitting a Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb to his SummerSlam opponent.
Randy Orton is weirdly looking on from behind the curtain. I don’t think you understand how tempted I am to make a penis joke…
Another split-screen SummerSlam commercial.
Sure, it’s not like I wanted to enjoy this match or anything.
Hardy vs. Benjamin up next.
Shelton still isn’t using ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Me Now’ as his theme music, which is disappointing.
The third and final part of the Miz vs. Daniel Bryan hype videos, which details the most recent chapter in this saga, since Bryan’s return to the ring earlier this year.
Daniel highlights the fact that he loves wrestling, whereas Miz just wants the fame, fortune, and his own reality TV show.
Someone should tell Bryan he’s also the star of a reality TV show. Just one that’s much, much worse.
Almas and Vega say some mean words about Rusev and Lana.
Rusev and Lana say some mean words about Almas and Vega.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SUMMERSLAM KICKOFF SHOW!!!
No Aiden English interference unfortunately, but pretty easy stuff for Almas, who wins in about a minute.
Aiden English sings a song about how sorry he is for ruining Rusev Day the last couple of weeks.
‘Killjoy’ in our Discord server just said he reckons Aiden is going to run down to the ring to cost Aiden the match.
I think he’s onto something.
Aiden English vs. Andrade Almas up next.
Samoa Joe just destroyed Paige.
Not like that.
By talking. Because Joe is very, very good at the talking.
Tom’s just announced that we’ll get Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin later tonight.
That should be boss.
Shelton is fantastic, and Jeff Hardy… well he’s Jeff Hardy.
The second part of a trilogy of video promos to hype up The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam.
The main focuses of this one being Bryan’s retirement and the famous Talking Smack promo in which The Miz verbally dismantled the then-SmackDown GM.
I felt a bit underwhelmed by the build for this one, but these packages are doing a great job of rectifying that.
GUYS WE’RE GETTING THE MIZ VS. DANIEL BRYAN HOLY SH…
That match did pick up towards the end.
A few decent nearfalls, Kofi Kingston flying around like a lunatic, and an UpUpDownDown on Killian Dain to secure the win for the SmackDown Tag Title number one contenders.
And one minute later there’s a full set of commercials.
Never mind, I love learning about sofa sales.
Mind you, I will need that “had an injury at work that wasn’t your fault?” insurance claim number for when Andy strangles me at some point.
A wild split screen promo commercial for Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar has appeared.
They are genuinely just admitting this six-man tag means literally nothing.
It’s Kofi’s birthday!
He has a big “BIRTHDAY BOY” sign.
Haha, I’m rolling around on the floor in laughter.
Promo videos are something we all know WWE are good at, and that was no different.
A look back to 2010’s NXT Season One when Miz was Daniel Bryan’s “Pro.” See, there was at least one good thing to come out of the original NXT.
Up next, SAnitY. Prepare to see them not be very chaotic, and lose to the New Day.
Three local jobbers called ‘the Triple Threat’ just got killed by the Bludgeon Brothers.
Three local jobbers called ‘the Triple Threat’ are about to be killed by the Bludgeon Brothers.
The Miz and Maryse announce that there will be a second season of Miz & Mrs on the USA Network, with the first still only three episodes in.
It also looks like the eight-year-long rivalry between Miz and SummerSlam opponent Daniel Bryan will be chronicled via video packages throughout the show, so that’s nice.
In a match that was pretty good but nothing special, Absolution worked over Becky Lynch, before Lynch launched a comeback and submitted Mandy Rose with the Dis-Arm-Her.
Charlotte barely did anything.
Anyone remember when Paige said Absolution was dead?
Oh also, the match is happening.
PAIGE HERE makes a tag team match, with Charlotte and Becky vs. Absolution.
God, I hate being right sometimes.
Carmella has been ordered to the commentary desk.
Can’t wait for 10 minutes of her telling us she beat Charlotte twice oh and DID YOU KNOW SHE’S ‘MONEY?!’
Carmella reminds us she’s beaten Charlotte twice, before Charlotte calls the champion a “Diva in a Women’s Era.”
We’re starting things off with SummerSlam‘s WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match participants: Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and current champ Carmella.
Becky and Charlotte are in their ring gear and ‘Mella isn’t.
Odds on Becky and Charlotte vs. Absolution after Carmella’s done telling us she’s ‘Money’ 17 times?
That’s the most action our Discord server has ever seen. Anyway, almost time to get things underway!
Also, I’m a few minutes behind which is no less annoying for me than it is for you. As mental as it sounds, sometimes I wish I was American.
