WWE
We are now just one day away from WWE’s first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event show from Atlanta, GA.
Four matches are officially advertised for the show, but there may also be some surprises that WWE doesn’t announce ahead of time.
Here are three WWE stars to potentially return at Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Bronson Reed
The WWE star who has been the subject of the most rumor and speculation heading into Sunday Night’s Main Event is certainly Bronson Reed.
Reed’s impending return has been widely reported on, with all signs pointing towards ‘The Auszilla’ being back on WWE TV at some point in September.
Considering that Reed’s stablemate in The Vision, Bron Breakker, has a massively important match in Atlanta on Sunday against Oba Femi, it seems reasonable to expect that WWE could pull the trigger on Reed’s return during or after that match.
With Breakker in need of a win over ‘The Ruler’, Reed could ensure his tag team partner gets over the line, while also keeping Femi protected in the process.
Bayley
Someone in the news for far different reasons in 2026 has been four-time WWE world champion Bayley, who’s contract status in the company has led to her being heavily linked to an exit in recent months.
It had been reported that Bayley’s WWE deal was due to expire at some point before the end of 2026, with AEW being viewed by fans as a likely destination for her if she was to depart.
However, the latest update that emerged on Thursday, September 3 is that Bayley is actually expected to remain in WWE, with creative pitches being made for her return on the Raw brand.
Considering Bayley was taken out by Lyra Valkyria on the last edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, it would be fitting to see ‘The Rolde Model’ make her big return to TV at Sunday Night’s Main Event and get revenge on her former tag team partner.
Drew McIntyre
While Bayley and Bronson Reed’s WWE returns appear to be drawing nearer, there is little information regarding Drew McIntyre, and when we should expect him back on SmackDown.
McIntyre has been away from WWE since WrestleMania 42 in April, and in his absence he has been filming roles in the upcoming Highlander reboot and The Last Druid – both of which feature Russell Crowe.
The SmackDown main event picture is supremely stacked right now, but McIntyre’s return would add something different. Not only can he resume his feuds with CM Punk, Cody Rhodes and potentially even Sami Zayn, but he can also can continue to draw the ire of SmackDown GM Nick Aldis; something that could potentially lead to a future match between the two.
With Rhodes and Randy Morton looking set to close the show at Sunday Night’s Main Event, McIntyre returning and costing Cody the match would make for a headline-stealing moment heading into next week.
