After forcing John Cena into submission in the legendary star’s final WWE match, there could be more legends on GUNTHER’s hit list.
From top names that are potentially departing soon, to someone else who could return immediately gunning for GUNTHER, there are some interesting choices as to where “The Ring General” could go next.
Here are seven WWE stars for GUNTHER to retire after John Cena.
7. AJ Styles

While many WWE stars are only rumored to be heading towards retirement in 2026, one name that we know for sure is intending to hang up his boots is AJ Styles.
With Styles reportedly set to see his current WWE contract expire in early 2026, he has publicly announced that his legendary career will come to an end next year.
After retiring Goldberg and John Cena, it might be GUNTHER who targets AJ Styles over the coming weeks leading to a bout between them at a later date, perhaps even at WrestleMania 42.
Even if the Austrian is not Styles’ final opponent, GUNTHER could still be an engaging feud for Styles at some point before he retires, particularly with GUNTHER coming off of his Cena victory.
