It was quite the week for R-Truth, as on June 1, he announced he had been “released” by WWE – yet following significant backlash to the decision, he appeared in the main event at WWE Money in the Bank, seemingly re-signed.
In the wake of these events – and the clear popularity of the 53-year-old – could we now see him in an even bigger spotlight, perhaps heading up his own faction?
Here are some fellow overlooked individuals we could see joining a brand-new R-Truth-led group.
5. Otis
Following his return, it appears R-Truth will be going by his real name, Ron Killings.
This suggests a potential shift in gimmick – possibly shedding much of the comedy and presenting a more serious character.
Another talented worker long saddled with a comedic gimmick is Otis, who recently showed in a hard-hitting match with Rusev on WWE Raw that he can work effectively as a no-nonsense hoss.
Joining this new faction could see Otis also make a switch in gimmick – a necessary character change that might finally bring the underutilised big man a deserved push.
