WWE SummerSlam Preview – Part 2 – Bryan, Bludgeonings and Baron

Daniel Bryan vs The Miz

Arguably the best built feud of the year. 8 years in the making and it feels like a genuinely big deal now that we’re here.

One of the best things you can say about this feud is that it’s believable; and in the years of kayfabe being dead, that’s no mean feat. I actually look at these two guys and think that they want to hurt each other…or at least pretend to in a pre-determined. partly choreographed fight. Either is fine.

The most recent video packages on SmackDown, as usual, were brilliantly made, detailing Bryan’s rise from NXT rookie to the most popular man on WWE TV – apart from Mojo Rawley of course.

Miz is undoubtedly one of the unsung heroes of WWE. A consistently good heel who is solid in the ring and a genius on the microphone. His unscripted outburst on Talking Smack remains to this day one of the best WWE promos of recent time.

So the match. This is impossible to call, because surely this can’t be the last match in this feud? The hatred they’ve built up has at least two or three matches worth of story…or if you’re WWE, 12 matches and three counselling sessions.

I think they’re going to go with the Miz, probably with some sort of Maryse distraction – which could lead to a Brie return to be at Bryan’s side. Then, they have have a six-man tag match with Brian, Brie and Birdie Danielson vs Mike, Maryse and Monroe Sky Mizanin.

The possibilities are endless.
