Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs Jeff Hardy – WWE United States Championship
Has anyone else noticed that Jeff Hardy has exactly the same head shape and hairline as Brother Nero from IMPACT?
Fine, I’m being silly, but it’s true.
Anticipation for a winner of this match has been slightly marred by the presence of Randy Orton. Although I’ve enjoyed Mr RKO’s latest heel run, it’s almost inevitable that he will get involved in this match somehow and force a DQ…or he’ll attack whoever wins.
As much as Jeff is one of my all-time favourite wrestlers, he needs a break. After his match with Shelton Benjamin, which he didn’t even end with a Swanton Bomb and rather some kind of botched Ultimate Warrior Splash, he looks to be checking his fingers for signs of life. We know he’s been struggling with back, leg, arm, neck, ankle, and nerve injuries, and it’s really starting to show in his matches as he’s struggling to move properly.
Oh well, at least his face paint is nice.
He is scheduled to face Randy Orton at SmackDown 1000, which suggests that either he’s winning and get’s attacked after the match…or Randy is costing him the victory here and setting up a separate feud, allowing Nakamura to start a new one too.
Hopefully it’s the second option, as I have no interest in seeing Randy as US Champ again any time soon.
Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura
