WWE Title Change Plans Before Money In The Bank 2026

WWE Money in the Bank 2026 is the next major PLE on the company’s calendar, with the show taking place on Saturday, October 10.

Before we get to New Orleans however, we have plenty of big shows to get through, including Sunday Night’s Main Event, WWE Raw and SmackDown in Mexico City, as well as AAA’s TripleMania 34 and Worlds Collide in Chicago.

Here are three potential WWE title change plans before we get to Money in the Bank 2o26.

Trick Williams Becomes Two-Time WWE United States Champion

For the majority of 2026, Trick Williams was untouchable on WWE SmackDown and appeared set to see out the rest of the year as United States Champion. That was until Baron Corbin returned to WWE in July, and in his first match back in the company dethroned ‘Trick Willy’ for his coveted white fur-laden title at SummerSlam 2026.

This weekend at Sunday Night’s Main Event Trick Williams will potentially get his path back to the gold, when his manager Lil Yachty steps into the ring with Corbin for his in-ring WWE debut.

If Yachty can last five minutes in the match with Corbin, Trick Williams will receive a shot at the United States Title on the very same night. It would be a big surprise to see Yachty not do just that, and given that Corbin will likely be a bit exasperated by the time he faces Trick, he should be fairly easy pickings.

WWE’s reluctance to “shave” the United States Championship since Corbin won it certainly suggests a swift title change is coming, as the white fur doesn’t really match Corbin’s aesthetic.

El Grande Americano Wins AAA Mega Championship From Dominik Mysterio

AAA’s biggest show of the year: TripleMania 34 will be a history-making one for the legendary Mexican promotion, as it will be the first hosted in Mexico and the United States across two separate nights.

Headlining Night Two on September 13 in Mexico City – two days after Night One in Las Vegas – will be the AAA Mega Championship match between reigning champion Dominik Mysterio, and his challenger El Grande Americano.

Americano has become the biggest babyface in AAA over the past year, with Ludwig Kaiser doing an unbelievable job with the character since taking over from Chad Gable.

It would be a tragedy to see Americano not be rewarded with the biggest win of his career on September 13, and it feels almost impossible that WWE won’t give it to him in front of a rabid audience in Mexico’s capital.

Sami Zayn Wins Back The Undisputed WWE Championship From CM Punk

Ever since seeing his first Undisputed WWE Championship reign cut short after just nine days by CM Punk, Sami Zayn has been on a mission to disrupt the main event scene on SmackDown as much as possible.

Interfering in back-to-back SmackDown main events over the past two weeks, Zayn has cost Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and GUNTHER opportunities to become the next WWE Champion.

This run of interference surely cannot go on much longer, and Zayn will have to either be dealt with my SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, or the reigning champion CM Punk.

With Money in the Bank still over a month out, a rematch between Punk and Zayn – or a multi-man match involving the likes of Owens, GUNTHER and Balor – should be booked beforehand. Zayn finally getting back his title would probably the most interesting next development in his story, and it could very well happen in the coming weeks.
