We know four of the WWE King of the Ring quarter-finalists following tonight’s SmackDown Live.
Andrade was first to stamp his ticket to the quarters by defeating Apollo Crews thanks to interference from Zelina Vega in a competitive match.
The final match of the night saw Elias defeat Kevin Owens to advance thanks to a fast count from impromptu referee Shane McMahon.
Andrade will face either Chad Gable or Shelton Benjamin in the quarter-finals, and Elias will face either Ali or Buddy Murphy. Both those other first round matches will be on SmackDown next week.
Last night’s Raw saw Cedric Alexander beat Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe beat Cesaro in first round matches. They’ll face either Miz or Baron Corbin, and either Ricochet or Drew McIntyre respectively.
The semi-finals for both brands will be held at their respective MSG shows on September 9 and 10, and then the final at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view that following Sunday.
