2K Issues Statement After Removing Current Star From WWE 2K23 Roster WWE

2K has issued a statement addressing the removal of a current SmackDown star from the WWE 2K23 roster list that was announced a few days ago.

A few alterations have been made since the initial announcement, one of them being Scarlett’s removal from the roster list despite originally being on it.

2K gave a statement to WrestleZone addressing this, writing:

“Scarlett will be available in WWE 2K23 as a manager – managers are not featured on the roster which is why she is not on the list.”

Scarlett actually made her WWE TV in-ring debut (not counting when she was used as a local talent way back in 2016) in a mixed tag match on SmackDown in January, when she and real-life husband Karrion Kross beat another real-life couple, Madcap Moss and Emma.

Other alterations made to the WWE 2K23 roster list since it was announced include Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo’s names being changed to just Angel and Humberto as they are in real-life WWE.

There have been a couple of other name changes as well, as MACE and Mansoor were changed to MA.CE and MAN.SOOR, which still isn’t exactly the same as the official spellings of ma.çé and mån.sôör, but does seem to confirm the updated Maximum Male Model versions of them.

And, in a change that was made very soon after the initial announcement and we’ve already covered on the site, but in case anyone didn’t notice, Johnny Gargano is now on the roster list despite not being on there originally.

An interesting addition to the roster who isn’t on the current list has seemingly been teased by 2K, which you can read about at this link.

We’ll let you know if any more changes emerge and of course we’ll keep you posted with any other news as the game approaches release in a month’s time. You can find the full updated WWE 2K23 roster list at this link.
