Three top AEW stars set for matches at Double Or Nothing on Saturday suffered injuries during Wednesday’s Dynamite this week.
Firstly, Rey Fenix, who will compete in the Casino Ladder Match this weekend, landed hard on the outside doing a dive after picking up a win over Orange Cassidy.
Despite a bunch of wrestlers ready to catch him, things didn’t work out and he fell flat onto the floor, potentially injuring his back/hip area.
F4WOnline reports that he was hurting afterwards, but the belief is he’ll be fine for Double Or Nothing. Jim Ross also said on commentary that he walked to the back after the bump.
Britt Baker is set for a singles match against Kris Statlander on Saturday, and during a tag match involving the two, Baker may have suffered a leg injury after having Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose slammed onto her.
Baker was clearly struggling and had to be taken to the back by medical staff after the match.
Right now, the severity of the injury is still unknown, but the promotion’s officials believe it could be serious. She’s still officially scheduled to face Statlander.
Finally, Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks, who made their return after not travelling for several weeks, may have suffered a bad rib injury ahead of the big Stadium Stampede match between the Inner Circle and the Elite.
The two brothers landed big crossbodies onto Santana and Ortiz from the stands, and it’s believed that Matt either broke a rib, tore cartilage, or suffered a bad bruise. X-rays will confirm which of those is the case. He did manage to finish the segment.
Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for updates in case any of these lead to changes to the AEW Double Or Nothing card.
