AAA are about to find themselves on the Disney Plus streaming service after a huge announcement at last night’s TripleMania XXX event.
AAA and Marvel comics have had a working relationship since 2020, with AAA having in-ring characters based on famous Marvel Comics heroes and villains in their ‘Marvel Lucha Libre Edition’, and that relationship has opened up a new avenue for those characters.
AAA taped a Marvel Lucha Libre Match on the pre-show of last night’s TripleMania XXX show, where a trailer was aired for an upcoming Marvel Lucha Libre show titled ‘El Origen De La Mascara’.
The show is set to premiere on the Disney Plus streaming service on December 21, 2022, and will be the first wrestling promotion to air on the streaming service.
It is not yet known if the show will be available internationally, or just be Mexico-exclusive.
Last night’s TripleMania XXX event opened with a cameo from Rey Mysterio, and ended with AEW’s Penta El Zero Miedo keeping his mask, defeating Villano IV in a mask vs mask main event. The full results of the show can be found here.
