It’s being reported that AAA owner Dorian Roldan is very keen to hold some matches featuring huge AEW stars CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.
CM Punk recently expressed an interest in teaming with Danielson to face the Lucha Brothers in Mexico City in a “Belts vs Beards” match, which, according to the Wrestling Observer, Roldan “freaked out about”.
Roldan also wants to have Kenny Omega defend the AAA Mega Championship against Bryan Danielson after seeing their match on AEW Dynamite last week.
The problem is, there’s currently an ongoing lawsuit case regarding AAA meaning the promotion can’t promote or broadcast its matches in the US, which theoretically would mean no-one in the US would be able to watch those matches if they happened in AAA.
The most recent big-time match involving AEW stars that took place in AAA was Kenny Omega defending the Mega Title against Andrade El Idolo, which created some booking complications.
The latest episode of AEW Dynamite seemed to tease the Lucha Brothers defending the AAA World Tag Team Championship against a team led by Andrade.
