Long Absent AEW Star Addresses Potential Return To TV

A long absent AEW star has responded to a fan query regarding a potential return to the company’s programming.

The January 20, 2024 episode of AEW Collision was the last time fans saw Ortiz compete in AEW, with the 33-year-old teaming with Eddie Kingston in a losing effort against Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli – a match that saw Ortiz suffer a torn pectoral injury.

After missing the remainder of 2024 after undergoing surgery Ortiz returned to action on the independent scene in March, and has competed for various promotions across North America since then.

However, despite now being healthy there has not been any updates regarding a potential return to AEW, leading a fan to take to Twitter and ask Tony Khan to bring the absent star back to the company’s programming – a request which caught the attention of Ortiz himself.

In response to the post, Ortiz expressed his own desire to make a return to AEW, writing:
