Adam Cole Says Johnny Gargano In AEW Would Be Amazing

Adam Cole has discussed the possibility of Johnny Gargano joining AEW, noting that he’d love to see Gargano become All Elite.

Following his WWE departure, Gargano is now reportedly ‘heavily considering‘ a run with AEW. Speaking on Throwing Down with Renee Paquette and Miesha Tate, Cole noted that he still regularly talks with Gargano, but hasn’t really asked him about his wrestling future.

Stating that he loves Gargano to death, Cole stated that it would be amazing if he ended up in AEW, noting:

“So, I will always mention Johnny Gargano as one of my favorite opponents of all-time. Me and him had a series of matches in NXT that to this day, I’m incredibly proud of. Again, another fantastic human being across the board as well. So, Johnny is a guy that I would really, really love to see in AEW for sure. Again, who knows? As the wrestling landscape continues to change and evolve — me and Johnny chat but more so just about real-life stuff.

“You know, I haven’t pressed him too hard on what he wants to do. I know he has a baby on the way which is really exciting. So right now, I know he’s super focused on that, which is cool. But yeah, I love Johnny to death and I think it’d be amazing if he ended up in AEW. I think that’d be really cool.”

Cole and Gargano notably feuded over the NXT Championship in 2019, with Gargano winning their 2/3 falls bout at NXT TakeOver: New York. Cole won the gold in their rematch at TakeOver: XXV, and successfully retained during their clash at TakeOver: Toronto.

While Gargano is currently preparing for  the birth of his and Candice LeRae’s first child, the former NXT Champion has teased the continuation of another popular NXT feud outside of WWE.
