Former 3-time NXT Tag Team Champion Bobby Fish was officially announced to have signed with AEW on October 6, following his debut defeat to Sammy Guevara on that night’s Dynamite show.
Fish was famously a member of the Undisputed Era in NXT, alongside Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong and fellow AEW star Adam Cole (Bay Bay).
Cole was recently asked about his former stablemate’s arrival in AEW at a New York Comic-Con panel, where he said he is delighted to see Fish in AEW, even though the Undisputed Era didn’t end on the best of terms.
Cole said:
“The last time I was around Bobby Fish, things with my former group didn’t end so well. I’m not sure we’re on the best terms. However, I am very happy that he’s in AEW, I hope everybody else too. We’ll see if it gets to the point where we invite him into The Elite. I don’t know if I’m emotionally ready for that yet. “
Fish recently spoke about the moment that Roderick Strong joined the group in NXT, calling it a ‘no-brainer’.
Fish also revealed that he was preparing to take on a player-coach role for WWE’s developmental brand prior to his release on August 6.
