Former two-time TNT Champion Adam Copeland has addressed his absence from AEW TV after six months away.
At AEW Double Or Nothing, Adam Copeland defeated Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match to retain the TNT Championship.
During the bout, Copeland climbed to the top of the cage before attempting a splash on Black through a table. Landing awkwardly, Copeland later revealed that he suffered a broken leg as a result.
Speaking to The Leafs Nation, Adam Copeland was asked about his injury and return to the ring. He answered:
“My brain forgets I’m 51, but my body quickly reminded me, yeah, you just jumped from 21 feet, asshole. That’s technically three stories.”
“You’re 51, quit it. But I feel good. I’m ready to get back at it and to get busy again.”
It remains to be seen how Adam Copeland will make his return to AEW programming at the time of this writing.
