Adam Copeland AEW Return Update

Adam Copeland AEW Return Update AEW

An update has emerged on the return status of former AEW TNT Champion Adam Copeland, who’s been out of action for months,

Copeland has been on the shelf after sustaining an injury during his Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing in May 2024.

According to a report from PWInsider Elite (via WrestlePurists), Copeland has actually been cleared for physicality, but is not expected back with AEW regularly until he has completed shooting with his latest Hollywood project.

Adam Copeland is resuming his role as Ares, The God of War in the upcoming second season of the Disney+ series, ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’.

According to the report, some sources have indicated that shooting is currently underway, with a possible wrap date of January 2025.

While no specific date in January is confirmed, there is the prospect of a return for the first ever AEW MAX simulcast on January 1.

That show will be the Fight For The Fallen edition of Dynamite, which is being billed as “the mother of all simulcasts”.

On top of it being a big occasion for AEW, Copeland also has a personal connection to the area as it will be held at Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

An Asheville resident, Copeland was actively involved in the relief efforts after Hurricane Helene caused extensive damage in the area.

PWInsider reports that a return for Copeland at that show “certainly possible” and would be scene as an ideal scenario, but it isn’t a sure thing.
