UPDATE: As of 3:50pm ET, over 12,000 tickets have now been sold for the show, as per F4WOnline.
After very heavily suggesting CM Punk will be on the show, AEW has already passed 10,000 tickets sold for Rampage: The First Dance.
The August 20 show at Chicago’s United Center was only announced on this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, with pre-sale tickets available today (July 30) through Sunday (August 1), and tickets going on full sale on August 2.
Dave Meltzer confirmed the news that 10,000 tickets have been sold. It’s believed the building will be able to hold a capacity of up to 15,000.
This was said to be a bit of a risk considering AEW will be in Chicago again just a few weeks later for a full week for All Out at the start of September.
The promotion has definitely played into the CM Punk rumours, and a lot of people are probably going to be very upset if they don’t get Punk on The First Dance.
