Konnan Weighs In On AEW All In London Prospects, Reveals Bigger Issue AEW

Konnan has weighed in on the prospects for the upcoming AEW All In show in London while identifying a bigger concern for Tony Khan.

With AEW All In set to take place at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 27 2023, tickets are not yet on sale for the company’s United Kingdom debut.

That hasn’t stopped some people from commenting on the possible reception to the PPV, with the likes of Chris Jericho being among the voices to address premature criticism.

Konnan has now offered his opinion on the UK event on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, saying:

“First of all, England has always been a very hot crowd. When we went there with WCW, and even when Impact went there, good crowds showed up.

“Even when we went for the World Wrestling All-Stars (WWA) event, there was a good turnout. You can always expect good crowds to turn up and buy merchandise.

“They are good fans, you know?”

While the fanbase may be there, and London is exceedingly accessible internationally, Konnan did address a bigger issue for the company, revealing:

“I do think they have a bigger problem, which is attracting new audiences.”

Both Konnan and co-host Disco Inferno would discuss the loyal fanbase, noting that shows are well attended and generate a healthy buy-rate, but that the company is struggling to attract the thing that would grow the audience – retaining first-time viewers on a week-by-week basis and attracting casual wrestling fans.

It was recently reported that AEW Dynamite has continued into its “eighteenth straight week” year-on-year decline in viewing numbers, with the 18-49 demographic falling 24.3 per cent compared to this time last year.

When it comes to the success of AEW All In, Disco suggested that CM Punk was a necessity if the company wanted to exceed ticket sale expectations.

Further details of the plans for CM Punk’s return to AEW were reported earlier today.
