AEW Star Thought He Might Die During Bloody Match AEW

A member of AEW’s Jericho Appreciation Society has revealed that they thought they might “pass away” during a particularly bloody match.

Speaking about the Blood & Guts match that took place on AEW Dynamite in June 2022, Angelo Parker told SwerveCity Podcast:

“I bled so much. Yeah, I had stopped bleeding at [some] point and then I started doing that hanging upside down thing, and I’m just looking down and I’m just seeing it pouring out.

Parker’s bloody sacrifice wouldn’t be enough to drive his team to victory, with Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli going on to win over Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard and Parker.

Parker also reflected on the positives of the match, saying:

“It’s crazy to take a step back from that and realize what it was because it’s going to be a constant thing, and the conversation was like, when you look at where we were not too long ago — a year and a half, I guess it was at that point, of us just trying to do this YouTube show just to stand out.

“And then you’re in this ridiculous match with 4 or 5 former world champions in there. We had Chris, Moxley, Swagger, Hager — that’s something.”

Parker joined AEW in August 2021 having had a run in WWE that started in 2016.

Together with Matt Menard, they would be known as Ever-Rise until their release in June 2021.

The pair had previously tagged together as 2.0 (2point0) and 3.0 changing to Ever-Rise in September 2019.
