Current AEW Backstage Atmosphere Update

The backstage atmosphere in AEW has been revealed, courtesy of a current champion, ahead of Grand Slam Australia.

With AEW making its return to Australia for the February 14 edition of Grand Slam, Kyle Fletcher recently spoke to 2GB Sydney and was asked about the backstage atmosphere.

The TNT Champion would reveal that there’s a ‘passionate’ atmosphere backstage in AEW, explaining:

“It’s like with anything, you have something you’re so passionate about, like I left my family, my friends, to pursue this crazy dream.

“You have 20, 30 blokes in the locker-room that all feel the same way about this super niche interest, of course you’re going to have that bond with them. You see them every week, a few times a week, you’re travelling all over the world and sitting next to them on planes. It’d be hard to not have that camaraderie.

“In AEW specifically, the locker-room vibe is, like I said, we’re all so passionate about it. We love this company and want to see it succeed, so we’re all egging each other on. We come back through the curtain to ‘That was awesome, you’re doing great.’ It’s a really cool vibe, absolutely.”

Kyle Fletcher is set to defend the TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe in a ladder match at AEW Grand Slam Australia.

Currently in his second reign, Fletcher recaptured the TNT Championship after beating Tommaso Ciampa on the February 11 episode of AEW Dynamite.
